One of the Two Race Cars that Martha and I had
in the 1970s, and Raced all over California, And
my First and Only Race. I Raced in the Owners
and Mechanics Race, and Won The Race !
STORY THAT DUKE LOVED TO TELL ON ME
On one of the Flying Trips to the 26 Bar Ranch
in the early 1970s we were talking about Nascar
and Car Racing and I told Duke the Story about
my only time driving a Race Car in the story
that is above.

He had a Big Laugh and said that He sure would
like to try that Himself some day if He could get
into the Car.

I told Him that we could Cut a Big Hole in the
Top of Cockpit and He could Stick He Head out
the Top of the Car and even Wear His Western
Hat !

He said "That sounds good Me, when do we do
it?"

I told Him that the next time He came North to
San Simeon we would Do It ! Of course that was
never to be.

He liked to tell this Story on me to the Cowboys
at the 26 Bar Ranch, after a few Belts Of Tequila
about me Winning The Race because all the
other Drivers Crashed on Turn 3 and 4 and I
was the Only One Left In The Race !!!

WHEN THE WORD GOT AROUND THAT DUKE WAS COMING
TO TOWN  MANY PEOPLE WOULD MEET US AT THE
AIRPORT AND MOB THE AIRCRAFT UNTIL DUKE GOT OUT
OF ONE OF THE TWO AIRCRAFT AND TALK TO ALL THE
PEOPLE AS HE ALWAYS DID, TALK TO ALL OF THEM !
