| THE HOPI INDIAN TRIBE BUYS THE 26 BAR RANCH IN 1997 ============================ |
| The Hopi Tribe Buys the John Wayne 26 Bar Ranch and then The Trouble Starts ! ================== The people that had John Wayne and Louis Johnson 26 Bar Ranch after Louis Johnson John Wayne's Partner sold the Ranch in the early 1980s after John Wayne's Passing for a Very Good Price, and kept The Ranch in Very Good Shape and Raised the same Champion Ship Hereford Cattle that John Wayne and Louis Johnson did in the 1960s and the 1970s. ================================================ The Hopi Indians Are Not Cattle Ranchers, they Are Farmers, and Very Good Farmers ! ======================= The Hopi Tribe bought the Ranch because they say it is their home land from the Distant Past, Not because it was John Wayne's Ranch and Not What The White Man Had Put On It ! They Did Hire Some Non Hopi people that knew about cattle to Run The Ranch, but you know how that goes if you are Not There To Run The Ranch yourself, and the Ranch has been Going Down Hill for the last Five Years that I have been here. The Roof Shingles on The Main Ranch House are being Blown off and the Trim on the Main House and The Guest House is Falling off ! The fences are in very bad shape and falling down with very litte help to fix them, and everything needs paint sense they let most of the Cowboy Help go ! ============================== I had made a few trips to the Ranch and on one of the trips I was told that the Foreman of The Ranch Had Been Fired and Did Not Know what to do with the House that He had Put up just 100 Yards Behind The Main Ranch House that He and His Family Lived In. I ask One Of the Manager of The 26 Bar Ranch and the Other Ranches that The Hopi Tribe had "Norman Honanie" that was a Hopi Indian, if he thought that the Hopi Tribe would let me Buy the House and live there and I would help with The Bed And Breakfast and would give me a Good Place to live and take care of my John Wayne Museum at The Ranch. ============= Norman Honanie Said Yes, so We Sighed a Legal Agreement in Winslow, Arizona Sighed and Notarized by "Sandy Riggs" at the Bank that the Ranch Uses, for 10 Years and The Rights for about 5 Ac. Of Ground that we Marked out with fence posts that the House was on and around the House plus the uses of a Small Barn that was in front of The House and use the Large Meeting Room the was part of the Main House to use as The John Wayne Museum. I paid for the House In Cash and another $25,000 to Remodel the House and Set Aside Two of The Four Bedrooms in the house to Be Used For the Ranch Foreman of The 26 Bar Ranch Office, and one Bedroom for the Manager of the Bed And Breakfast Office. =========================== Then a few years ago we had What was First Called John Wayne Days for His 100 Birthday here in "Round Valley" where Eagar, Springerville and The 26 Bar Ranch are Located. Everything was going well until Ethan Wayne and Wayne Enterprises Said that we could not use the Name John Wayne so We called it Round Valley Days at The 26 Bar Ranch ! ============================================== Everything went very well and The Hopi Indians liked it because it made them look Very Good to all the Hundreds of People that came to visit John Wayne Ranch and the Museum That We Had Called "John Wayne Days At The 26 Bar Ranch." ==================================== Then I got a call from the other Manager of the Hopi Ranches "Duane Coleman" that was not a Hopi Indian, and ask me if I would Fly him over by Fresno, California so he could Buy a Large Tractor to be used on the Ranches, but he did pay for The Fuel, and if I remember correctly the Tractor was way over $50,000 and after they got the Tractor home they had to Rebuild it ! ============= Duane Coleman one of the Two Managers of the Hopi Ranches was at least at Three of the Meetings that Norman Honanie and I had on What and How to Do The Museum and The Bed and Breakfast and Promote the 26 Bar Ranch for The Hopi Indians. ================================================= Then a few months later thing began to Go Bad, the Hopi Tribe Fired the Ranch Foreman or he left because he could not take what he saw that was going on with The Ranch, and then let the Lady that ran The B&B go, and Closed The Bed And Breakfast ! Then the Things of mine that I had brought to the Ranch Started to Disappear. Things like the Microwave Ovens, Kitchen Ware like Pots and Pans. And in the Main Horse Barn Saddles and Tack and a New $1000.00 Electric Gas Welder and other tools, And No One Knew where it all went? Then I had to Sell My Horse at a Great Loss that they had Me Buy to take Guests on Trail Rides with for the People that had come to Visit The Ranch, and the loss of all these thing Cost A Lot Of Money ! ==================== Then I had a Run In with One of the Two Men "In My Own House!" That Ran All Of The Hopi Ranches that was a Hopi Indian but Not A Rancher, "Norman Honanie" and we almost Came To Blows, but at my age in my Late 70s I was not about to Take On This Hopi Indian that was about 30 Younger Than Me, and After He Called me "A Son Of A Bitch" and Started towards Me, I Reached For 38 Colt that I always Carry and I have Permit to Carry, and He Backed Off, His name was "Norman Honanie" a Hopi Indian and The Same Man That Had Sighed The Agreement With Me when He and The Hopi Tribe wanted me at The 26 Bar Ranch for my Help with The John Wayne Museum ! ================================================== Then The Harassment Started, I was Ban from the Main Ranch House where we were Going to have The John Wayne Museum. =================================================== The "Arizona Highways Magazine" People came to do a Story on The Ranch, John Wayne and The Hopi Tribe and I had just taken them though The Main Ranch House and The New Ranch Foreman "Wood Hart" drove up and Told us that I had No Right To Be In The Main Ranch House that The Managers of The Ranch had Given me The Keys To ! ================================== The Man From "The Arizona Highways Magazine" that had come to do the Story on the Ranch Said, "What The Hell Was That All About, Do You Want Me To Put That In The Story Also?" I told Him No just let it ride for now. ========================================== And then they tried to get me to get rid of my 26 Bar Ranch Web-Site that I had Started and was Paying For, that I used to tell people about the 26 Bar Ranch and The Bed and Breakfast that wanted to come to the John Wayne Ranch for a Short Stay . =================================================== Then came The Death Threats in my E-Mail, and so I had Enough and call The F.B.I. In Flagstaff, Arizona ! Two F.B.I. Agents came to my house in the Verde Valley and spent hours on my Computer trying to find out where the Death Threats were coming from ? ============================== After I had told the The Manager Of The Ranch and The Hopi Tribe Chairman about this, The Death Threats Stopped , But the Harassment Did Not and By this time "Norman Honanie had been Removed as One of Ranch Managers and Moved into another Job by The Hopi Tribe. ============================== Because I live just 50 Yards behind the Main Ranch House at The 26 Bar Ranch I can see what is Going On at This Arizona Historic Site, not just because it was Ones of John Wayne's Ranch but because it was One Of Arizona's First Historic Ranches, and Now Has Turned Into A Flop-House For The Hopi People Passing through Eagar and Springerville, Arizona on their way to and from the Hopi Reservation !!! ====================================== Then after a Few letters between Myself and The Hopi Tribe, I got a Letter From The Hopi Tribe that said the The Agreement That I Had Sighed with "Norman Honanie" was No Good, and That I was to Move My House From The Ranch by Aug. 2010 and to Do No More Legal Activity After That, and that is in a letter from The Arizona Hopi Tribe that my Attorneys Now Have. This I Can Not Do as it is a Over 2000 Sq. Foot Manufactured Home set on Stone and Concrete, Not A Trailer as The Hopi Tribe Calls It, and I have been told that it would Cost about $50,000 to Move The House ! ================================================== Needless to Say I am Not Going To Do That because, I Still Have 5 Years To Go With The Hopi Tribe Of Arizona on my Agreement with Them on my house at the 26 Bar Ranch ! ================================================ So I Had My Attorneys Draw Up Papers for a Federal Action Against The Hopi Tribe Of Arizona For $10,000,000.00 for Breech Of Contract, Fraud by "Norman Honanie," Because if the Agreement is No Good as the Hopi Tribe Said "Norman Honanie" and Duane Coleman Committed Fraud, and for Harassment, Age, and Reverse Discrimination ! ========================================= To Be Filed If The Harassment Does Not Stop Very Soon ! =============================================== "NOTE" ========= Now There is One Very Quick way to Solve this Problem with my house and Me and The Hopi Tribe, and that is to buy me out for only what I have Invested in The House, and I will Be Gone from The 26 Bar Ranch in a Month or Less, Or just Live Up To The Agreement Entered Into Between "Norman Honanie" Of The Hopi Tribe And William T. Brooks the 3rd Signed ! ================================================ I PUT THIS UP HERE AS A MATTER OF PUBLIC RECORD WITH COPIES TO THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THIS PROBLEM ! Chilibill William T. Brooks 3rd |
